Sam Smith
Smith's work is primarily focused on the various social and psychological aspects of personhood. Most of her inspiration comes from interacting with other people; she is most especially fascinated by the differences between the way she views the world and the way another person sees it. Smith works in a variety of mediums, (most notably: block printing, ceramics, and watercolor), and is looking forward to learning more.
ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I am fascinated by the different lives that surround me. Each person is a world of their own, complete with adventures, experiences, and perspectives that I will never be able to capture wholly for myself simply because we are separate people. My work is focused conceptually around the influence of the people we encounter in our lifetimes: family, friends, classmates, members of the community, and even rivals.
